| Lost Your Pet? |
| Immediate action is necessary!
Here is what to do: |
Look
around while driving in your neighborhood. |
Tell people
in your neighborhood, especially children, leave your phone number.
Place
notices around the area on telephone poles, in supermarkets and in
laundromats. |
Place
an ad in the newspaper if you can.
Check
newspapers daily for "found" listings which can be placed
at no charge.
Call Pima Animal Care at 243-5900 daily. |
All animals picked up by officers are listed by description and the area in which they
were found. |
Dogs and cats without licenses or ID tags are kept at least 3 days. |
Dogs and cats with licenses or ID tags are kept at least 7 days. (Dont assume that
your pet still has its collar on.) |
Come to the Pima Animal Care Center every other day to identify your pet. Dogs
and cats are described differently by different people and mistakes can occur. |
Place a notice in our Lost Book with a picture of the pet if possible. |
Call and visit the Humane Society at 327-6088 as many people take found pets there. |
Dont give up! Many people will not take a pet to an animal shelter in hopes of
finding the owner or with the thought of keeping the pet. Look at least three weeks, your
pet may be watching for you. |
The supply of good pets
outnumbers the demand by 10 to 1 |
And, of course, keep checking the on-line photos of found pets at the FOUND! World Wide Web site! |
