Pima Animal Care Accepts Cash, Check or Credit Card
(VISA or MASTERCARD)
All dogs three months of age or older must have a current Pima County license. The license must be affixed to a collar and should be worn at all times. To obtain your dog's license, your dog must have a current rabies vaccination. The rabies vaccination must be administered by a licensed veterinarian. .
When does the license expire?
1. Your pet must have a valid rabies vaccination before Pima Animal Care Center can issue a license.

2. Since by law PACC cannot issue a license for any pet whose vaccination will expire before the license expires, the starting date of a pet license is always adjusted to the first day of the vaccination month, thereby ensuring that the vaccination will expire after the license expires. For example if your dog was vaccinated in June, but you did not purchase the license until any months following June, your license would run from June of that year to June of the following year.

3. We also recommend that if your dog is due for a new vaccinaton that you obtain the vaccination in the same month that the previous vaccination was giving. Otherwise, the license starting date will be adjusted to that month, and late charges could apply. For example if your license expires in March, you will receive your renewal notice in February and you will have until the end of March to renew the license. If your dog requires a new vaccination you would want to wait until March to give the vaccination. Otherwise if you vaccinate in February when you receive your notice, your license will be adjusted to expire in February versus March.
