"People and Animals in a Caring Community"
We Remember Terry Taylor
On Saturday, August 13, 2011, long time Pima Animal Care Center volunteer Terry Taylor passed away from lung cancer. He was a truly dedicated, compassionate person who worked tirelessly and relentlessly to improve the lives of all the shelter animals in our care. He knew every dog and cat at PACC and did what he could to find homes for thousands of Tucson's unwanted animals. His absence will be felt by all, but more so by the many animals he befriended.

"No one is more cherished in this world than someone who lightens the burden of another. Thank you." - Unknown Author

Volunteer at PACC
Dedicated, Caring, Out-going People Needed!

Volunteers are needed for Off-site Pet Adoptions and Shelter Hosts!
  • Do you enjoy working with people?
  • Do you love animals?
  • Are you self-motivated and looking to make a difference?
  • Then you are the right person for the job!

The shelter is full of animals that are waiting for their forever homes and they need your help. When prospective new owners come to the shelter it makes a big difference to have a volunteer to help them to find the right pet. The animals at PACC need dedicated, caring people with good customer service skills to help advocate for them and to find good homes.

Off-site Volunteers
Volunteers who choose to host Off-site Pet Adoptions provide a valuable opportunity for the animals to get out in the community and show off their adorable personalities. This commitment involves establishing a regular schedule to fulfill our off-site obligations to the generous businesses and organizations who allow us to collocate on their property. Off-site Pet Adoption events vary monthly and volunteers can determine which events best fit their schedule.

Shelter Volunteers
There are a variety of tasks shelter volunteers can perform to support and promote pet adoptions. The shelter is located at 4000 N. Silverbell Road and is open for adoptions Monday – Friday 12:00 p.m. - 7 p.m. and every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shelter volunteers are encouraged to set a regular schedule to be at the shelter.

Training
Our professional staff and dedicated volunteers will provide new volunteers with comprehensive training to ensure that they understand the adoption process and how to best showcase our shelter animals for successful adoption.

For more information or to register for the next Volunteer Orientation contact the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator at (520) 243-5906.
